UCB Portugal: Word For Today launch
Dec 9th, 2007 by simon wadsworth
Hi friends around the globe from UCB!
It’s been sometime since since the last time I saw many of you in the UCB Conference in South Africa last year, and since then I can let you know that the work of UCB Portugal has finally got off the ground.
After an initial launch and some effort gathering support from local churches, UCB Portugal now has it’s only “Word for Today” in Portuguese (from Portugal as opposed to Brazilian Portuguese), and more recently has started transmitting some regular radio programs in the Lisbon Area, through local radio. It was with much emotion that I just heard about the first person that walked into their local church for the first time as result of hearing the programs. Consequently they heard the message of Salvation and accepted Jesus as their saviour, and is now attending regularly, together with their family.
This week we have also finally got our web radio up and running with a regular 24 hour program, and now looking for better contents to provide an essential resource for the church in Portugal attain the goal proposed by UCB Portugal:
Reaching People, Changing Lives ..
The team working on these projects in Portugal is growing, and I have to thank all those who have helped us make this possible, and so many of you that have inspired us with your example. We still have a lot of work to do here, but being part of this big family makes it all worthwhile.
