All About Radio
I haven’t said nearly enough this year about the radio network in the Philippines. The Edge FM is the nation’s only FM Christian music network. We established it three years ago with Ron & Joyce Titular and our international partners, United Christian Broadcasters. Today, we have an overall “reach” of 6 million.
The Edge FM (UCB Philippines) publishes 10,000 copies each quarter of “The Word for You Today.” This is the second most published devotional in the world (3 million copies worlwide each quarter). Our version takes a youth edition, then “Philippine-izes” it for our context. We get loads of feedback each month from those who are blessed by this amazingly prophetic daily word from God.
Emerge Radio
As Emerge we produce two radio spots for the Edge right now. Andrew does “Surf’s Up!” which highlights websites with good content for leaders and also reviews those sites dedicated to helping young people stay clean from the world’s pollution. (For example, xxxchurch.com has a free download that will send your browsing history to an accountability partner each month. Knowing that your wife or pastor will see a list of every place your have surfed to is a helpful incentive to avoid clicking into pornographic sites.)
I produce “The Quest,” a show dedicated to showing how the teachings of Jesus can be followed in real life situations. Discipleship under Christ is the core of Christianity so this program gives foundational truth.
