UCB Philippines: The Edge Radio Powerteam Share-A-Thon
Nov 22nd, 2007 by Jim Reyes
We’re sooo excited, and we just can’t hide it… and i know, i know, i know la la la la la la….
This is our first share-a-thon here in the Philippines. A milestone for us!
See this photo here? They are college students who came to the station after hearing about the share-a-thon going on. From their allowances, they have pledged to give $10/month to the station. Wow! This floored me personally. You see, in the Philippines, $10/month is BIG. And for these students to give & support The Edge showed me that they realize the importance of Christian radio to them and their peers.
Here’s one of their testimonies:
I am so thankful that there is a radio station like The Edge Radio in Davao. You are my companion everyday. Listening to you has helped me in my Christian walk. I am constantly reminded to keep my focus on JESUS, despite being busy with a lot of things.
I pray that there are more lives that your station can touch & more souls will come to God thru you. God bless your station!

Cheerfully giving, cheerfully giving, cheerfully giving. How can I emphasize it more? God’s beaming a huge smile I’m sure.

Our share-a-thon is still on-going until Sunday and so far we have received around $200/month in pledges. The biggest donor is no other than the very generous Mr./Mrs. Anonymous. God bless them abundantly.
Other praise-items to date would be:
1. A major university here in Davao city has said they would like to re-broadcast our program in their campus radio. Ateneo de Davao University is a university of close to 20,000 young college students.
2. A business-woman has sent to the station 12 postdated checks of $20/month! What a blessing!
3. A high school student from an indigenous area has pledged $1/month from his allowance.
I can’t express how I am sooo happy today. Many thanks thanks thanks to the wisdom given by my share-a-thon mentors Gary “The Hoogman” Hoogvliet, Perry Atkinson, Andrew Pitchford, Graham Carter, Chuck Quinley, Ian Worby & John Marks.
The best is yet to come! God is sooo good!
We love you guys!!!
